In 2018, DTEK ESCO upgraded the electric lighting at DTEK Pavlogradska CCM using the energy service mechanism. Six hundred and fifty LED-lamps were installed as part of the project instead of incandescent and luminescent lamps in the main building of the enterprise, on the railcar dumper and on the sludge tank.

Also, 6 km of cable networks and switchboards were completely replaced.

The project was initiated and identified as the priority by the energy managers and the management of the CCM after employees of enterprises passed training at DTEK ESCO under the program “Fundamentals of Energy Management and Energy Audit at Industrial Enterprises”.

All lamps are fireproof, which is important for coal production.

Two types of lamps were used:

  • In an aluminum case with integrated LEDs under individual protective lenses.
  • In a case of aluminum, aluminum alloy and polycarbonate (makrolon).

Lamps specifications:

  • Luminaire efficiency – more than 120 lm/W.
  • Color rendering index – more than 80%.
  • IP Rating – IP65 (DSTU IEC 60598-1).
  • Expected service life (luminous power reduction by up to 30%) – 85,000 hours.

The energy service contract has been concluded for 5 years.

Project results:

  • 70% savings on electric lighting has been achieved.
  • 1.1 million kWh or 1.8 million hryvnias – expected annual savings.
  • The illuminance level has tripled.
  • Industrial safety in the enterprise has increased.

Previously, DTEK ESCO upgraded the electric lighting system at DTEK Dobropilska CEP, providing 90% of energy savings..
